I was honestly a little skeptical about using a mobile vet at first, but since my dog couldn’t walk, it felt like my only option in the moment.
I’m really disappointed with the experience we had. We were seen on Saturday, and it didn’t feel like a thorough full-body exam was done. We were told he was obviously hurt, but there wasn’t really a clear answer. The advice we got was to massage the area, assist him with walking, and wait to see if things improved by Monday.
By Monday, we took him to our regular vet. Within five minutes of a full exam, they checked his knee and found that it was completely blown and essentially separated from the lower part of his leg.
That was really upsetting to hear, especially after already having him seen. It’s even harder knowing I was helping him walk and trying to “work it out,” thinking I was helping, when he was likely just in pain the whole time.
I also can’t help but feel like this was more of a money grab. Bloodwork was done even though I explained he had just had bloodwork a month prior. He was also given supplements, even though, looking back, it feels like his condition was much more serious and likely not something that would improve. I don’t feel like this was handled with much empathy or emotional awareness. It came across more as financially driven than patient-focused.
Maybe I’m being a little hard considering I had to put my dog to rest because of this, but I just would’ve rather known the truth of the situation upfront instead of being strung along and told he needed X-rays, when another vet was able to identify the issue so quickly just from a thorough exam.
I will say, the vet tech who came was very kind, empathetic, and supportive. I’m genuinely grateful for that level of compassion during such a difficult situation.
It’s not that I wouldn’t recommend them entirely, maybe in a different situation I would feel differently, but based on my experience, I personally won’t be using this service again.
I can’t say the mobile visit itself was terrible, the convenience was helpful, but the lack of a thorough exam and missed diagnosis is really disappointing, especially when another vet identified the issue so quickly.
EDIT—-
Went from 2 stars to 1. I’d rate it 0 if I could.
After posting my initial review, I received a voicemail from Dr. Saini. At first, I assumed it was a genuine follow-up to check on my dog. However, in the same message, he mentioned that he had read my review and apologized for not being more sincere.
He went on to say he couldn’t properly diagnose the issue without sedating my dog and suggested the condition may have worsened after Saturday. That doesn’t align with what we were told at the time. We asked very clearly for a realistic assessment and next steps, and instead we were given vague reassurance and told to wait it out and a bit of false hope.
We were sold shots, supplements, and bloodwork that, in hindsight, served no real purpose for what was actually going on. There was no indication that any of that would change the outcome, and I don’t think Dr Saini could honestly think this would help. Looking back, it feels like unnecessary services were pushed on two people who were clearly worried and looking for honest answers. It felt like a money grab, not care.
We then went to Summit Veterinary Care on Monday. Within minutes, they were able to assess the situation with a straightforward, hands-on exam. No sedation, no extras, no guesswork, just honesty. We were met with honesty and so much compassion from Summit Veterinary care.
The follow-up call is what really left a bad impression. Asking how my dog was doing while also stating that my review had already been read felt so insincere. If the review had actually been read in full, it would have been clear that my dog had already been put to rest.
At the end of the day, convenience doesn’t make up for a lack of transparency. This experience felt more focused on making money than providing accurate care- even if that care wouldn’t have made you as much money.
I'm finally getting the chance to write a review on Fairfax Mobile Veterinary Services. My beloved 14-year-old Cocker Spaniel was diagnosed with cancer in late September 2025, and by mid-October that year he was ready to cross the rainbow bridge. I didn't want to take him to an animal hospital or emergency vet to avoid any stress as he was already not looking too good, and I preferred for him to pass away at home. I called Dr. Saini's practice the morning of, and he told us he could fit us in that same day. Dr. Saini showed up within a couple of hours with his Vet Tech, and they were some of the most compassionate human beings I've ever met. They immediately assessed the situation, provided very clear and gentle instructions on the process, and showed genuine empathy at my dog's condition. My sweet baby boy passed away at home, peacefully, with those who loved him around him, and this is all thanks to Fairfax Mobile Veterinary Services. The love and compassion they showed during such a hard time is incomparable, and they went out of their way to schedule us in. I'm so happy that I chose this Dr. Saini and his staff to give my dog the care he needed at end of life. Really recommend!
The aggressive, selfish driving is reason enough for me to never use this service. The black SUV almost caused numerous collisions, and showed no remorse whatsoever. Obviously has no respect for other drivers. I will be staying as far away as possible from this company.
