In my 68 years I have never witnessed any of my pets treated the way my nieces dog was treated. He had surgery after being attacked by another animal. The surgical area wasn't shaved or cleaned when he was released. He was leaving a trail of blood and when we asked about this were told the wound needs to drain. By the time we got home the car was covered in blood. After applying pressure bandages that wouldn't stop the bleeding the dog was carried to an emergency vet in henrico where he had to undergo another surgery. The cause of the bleeding was a damaged blood vessel which was overlooked during the first surgery. All original sutures were in place. The dog came close to bleeding out. He spent the night and was released the next day, clean, not bleeding, area shaved and stitches tight. Animal clinic of caroline received a copy of services rendered by the second vet but did not cooperate and even took down my nieces review. I was in the car when we picked him up and saw the amount of blood all over her house. I am thankful the dog is alive and doing well now.

On May 30, my dog Zeus was attacked and taken to Animal Clinic of Caroline around 9:30 AM. We were told he needed surgery, which was performed later that afternoon. When I picked him up around 2:30 PM, he could barely walk and was actively dripping blood. I expressed concern but was told the bleeding was normal. Once home, the bleeding continued and soaked through multiple pressure bandages. That evening, we rushed Zeus to an emergency veterinary hospital, where he underwent a second surgery shortly after midnight. We were informed that a torn blood vessel was found and addressed. Thankfully, Zeus is recovering well, but what should have been single surgery turned into two surgeries, an emergency visit, additional expenses, and significant stress. After attempting to address my concerns with the clinic, I was left disappointed by the lack of accountability and resolution.

Love Dr. Hammet and his staff! They are always friendly and always squeeze me in if my babies have to be seen urgently. My kitties love it there! Always clean!
