We drive 35 minutes from the peninsula because we love this office so much. After a few bad experiences closer to home we asked our grooming office who they use and every single person working drives to Smithfield for their animals so that was recommendation enough for me.

I first brought my new kitten to Smithfield Animal Hospital instead of the local vet I had been using for my dogs, and I was so impressed that I decided to move all of my pets there. The care my kitten received was excellent, the costs were very reasonable, and every single person I interacted with was kind, patient, and genuinely caring. After seeing that experience, I switched my dogs to Smithfield Animal Hospital as well, and I couldn’t be happier with that decision. One of my dogs is a large breed who has been through numerous surgeries and can be anxious and reactive at veterinary visits. The relaxed atmosphere and calm, confident manner of the technicians and veterinarians have made a noticeable difference in his comfort level. They also provide wonderful care for my guinea pigs, which can be difficult to find. I never feel rushed, and I am never made to feel like a bother for asking questions. Appointment availability has been fantastic, and the staff always takes the time to explain things thoroughly. If you’re looking for compassionate, knowledgeable veterinary care at a reasonable cost, I highly recommend Smithfield Animal Hospital.
