Galax Va Vetinary spayed,my female cat,i was pleased with their care,gave my lil girl pain medication home for my cat,ive been at other clinics,getting my Animals spay,neuter,they never sent any medication home.for pain for my cats.Awesome place,Thank you all

Beware!! If I could give them zero stars I would. I took my beloved 14 year-old cat here for extensive bloodwork and an exam a couple of months ago because he had been losing weight rapidly. Dr. Ayers only told me that his kidney values were "slightly elevated" and prescribed a dose of subcutaneous fluids, sent me home with a couple of cans of prescription cat food, and told me I could go to their website to figure out which one he liked. That was it. Dr Ayers expressed no sense of urgency or concern about what was causing the cat's emaciated condition so I called back several times trying to get the doctor to return my call to discuss what else could be going on with the cat and to create a plan of action but Dr Ayers never called me back despite my repeated calls to her and her office. I ultimately took the cat to a different Veterinarian clinic close to a month later since Dr Ayers couldn't be bothered to follow up with me. I had the records from Dr Ayers sent over to the new vet. The new vet was horrified when she reviewed and showed me the records from Dr Ayers' office. My little guy's kidney values were literally off the chart, outside of the margins, showing advanced stage 4 kidney failure. Mind you, those values were from a month earlier. I don't know how he held on as long as he did. The only option at this point was compassionate euthanasia. Thinking that my sweet little buddy suffered unnecessarily for at least a month because of Dr Ayers' incompetence and FAILURE to communicate absolutely breaks my heart. Additionally, I had taken another one of my cats for an exam with Dr Ayers, and when the new Vet looked at her records, we discovered that there were serious things noted in the other cat's file that Dr Ayers never mentioned either, including a melanoma spot on her eye.
