I’ve taken my pets here for years and they have always been great. I have a senior lab and 2 cats currently. Our youngest cat recently ate something that got stuck in his intestines, Dr. Sasha and staff went above and beyond to walk us through the urgent care visit and eventual surgery. We are so grateful for the compassionate care we always receive at Broadway Vet.

We took my kitty in to get cremated yesterday evening and the lady at the front gave me a hug which was so so sweet, I'm not sure was your name was but thank you so much, I really needed that hug.

Update: Dr. Tyler called me yesterday (about 3 weeks after the original post) and I found him to be very professional and informative. He took the time to listen to my experience, then explained both why our dog needed the teeth removed and the steps that Broadway Vet has and is taking to avoid situations like this in the future. I let him know I really appreciated the call and the time he took to explain things. Original Review: It makes me sad to write this review because for the previous three years we generally had good experiences at Broadway Veterinary. Unfortunately, our dog's recent dental procedure was extremely disappointing. Our dog is a healthy, active 6-year-old who had been seen just two months earlier for his annual exam. We dropped him off for a dental cleaning at 8:00 a.m. and were told he was one of several dogs scheduled that day. We were told we would receive an update around 1:00 p.m. At 1:30 p.m. we received a call that he was ready to be picked up. When we arrived, the veterinarian spoke with us briefly in the crowded lobby and mentioned, almost in passing, that they had removed all four of his upper front teeth. We were shocked and had to ask her to repeat what she had said. What upset us most was not necessarily the decision itself, but the lack of communication. We were never contacted during the procedure to discuss the findings or the recommendation to remove four teeth. Although not required because we did sign the waiver, most dog owners I spoke to said their vets routinely did this. Afterward, there was little explanation of why the extractions were necessary, what the long-term implications might be, or what to expect during recovery. We were then given medications and told to administer them for 7 or 14 days. When we asked follow-up questions later by email, we were unable to get direct answers. Instead, we repeatedly received responses that did not address the specific questions we had asked. Even after speaking with a second veterinarian, our concerns remained unanswered. The experience left us feeling unheard and uninformed at a time when we were worried about our dog. A simple phone call during the procedure, a private conversation after the surgery, and clear answers to our follow-up questions would have made a tremendous difference. One thing the clinic communicated very thoroughly was the cost of the procedure. We received multiple reminders and explanations about fees before, during, and after the appointment. I only wish the same level of communication had been applied to explaining the treatment our dog received and the medications he was prescribed.

Very friendly staff! We called at 7pm and they were able to get us in an hour later for an appointment. The doctor was extremely patient and friendly while meeting our nervous puppy. Very appreciative of the friendly and helpful staff.

Broadway has two great vets but a lot of incompetent staff and some extremely rude employees. They give mixed messages that cause confusion and result in poor care for animals. A staff member named Miranda says "Ask for me anytime you need some extra help! No problem!" So I'm speaking with a front desk lady who misunderstood the doctors orders about not feeding my dog for 12 hours before an 8 am appointment by recommending I don't feed her dinner at 5pm... 5pm is not within 12 hours of 8 am so I asked for Miranda to confirm the doctors orders. The veterinarian Sasha Hazelton gets on the line and absolutely berates me saying her staff are sobbing because of how unbelievably rude I'm being... rude by pointing out that 8am and 5pm are more than 12 hours apart. I was doing what Meredith said to do.... why are you treating me this way? Customer for 5 years, gone in 1 day, thrilled to be at a much much more professional veterinary office in Sacramento. Should have left the first time Broadway almost let me dog die. Avoid this place at all costs!
